Life Science project business development workshop with Marco Rüedi in April

BioPhoT offers life science teams the unique opportunity to work with one of Switzerland's leading business development experts, Marco Rüedi.

He specialises in the strategic development and commercialisation of life science projects. Marco works closely with biotechnology, medical technology, and health innovation teams,helping them define clear development pathways from scientific results to market entry and investment readiness.

During the workshop, teams will receive industry-specific, hands-on feedback on their project's development logic, market potential and next steps, based on the experience of the Swiss life sciences ecosystem.

The workshops are scheduled to take place from April 13-17, 2026. The program will be organized into thematic days, with each day focusing on a specific subfield of life sciences and bringing together teams from that respective area.

Provisional breakdown:

  • Day 1 (13.04) – Enabling Technologies (technologies that support life sciences innovation. Examples: lab-on-chip, advanced materials, sensor technologies, MI/data tools).

  • Day 2 (14.04.) – Biotechnology / Pharmaceuticals / Synthetic Molecules / Nutraceuticals.
    Venue:Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis
  • Day 3 (15.04.) – Medical Technologies (MedTech) (technologies used in healthcare for treatment or patient care. Examples: medical devices, rehabilitation tools, digital health solutions).
    Venue:University of Latvia
  • Day 4 (16.04.) – Diagnostics (technologies for detecting or monitoring health conditions. Examples: in vitro diagnostics, biomarker tests, screening tools).
    Venue:Riga Stradiņš University
    *In the evening: networking event with ecosystem members (venue: StartUp House).
  • Day 5 (17.04.) – Diagnostics II.
    Venue:Riga Technical University

About the mentor

Marco Rüedi (MD, eMBA, eMMM) is a physician, entrepreneur and international business coach with more than 20 years of experience in life sciences and health innovation.

He acts as Senior Business Coach At the Swiss innovation agency Innosuisse, where he advises early- and growth-stage companies in biotech, medtech, pharma and health innovation.

By combining his medical background with business and management expertise, he helps teams to combine scientific potential with a commercially viable development strategy.
