EATRIS-ERIC is the European Research Infrastructure for Translational Medicine, helping to develop the knowledge generated in the lab into real medical solutions such as therapies, diagnostics, vaccines and medical technologies. It brings together top research institutes, clinical centres and universities across Europe, providing access to the scientific expertise, technology, data and regulatory advice needed to take innovative ideas through to clinical trials and into patient treatment.

Translational medicine is about translating scientific discoveries into clinical practice. Much research does not progress beyond the laboratory level because of a lack of infrastructure, collaborators or knowledge of the pathway to medical application.

EATRIS-ERIC helps to bridge this gap by providing access to European research resources, expert support, data platforms, clinical centres and international collaborators, thereby significantly accelerating the progress of innovations to the patient and reducing the risks of implementation and development in the early stages of development, more specifically for BioPhoT research and innovation projects.
