On September 24th, the Institute of Solid State Physics (ISSP) of the University of Latvia (UL) and the UL will bring together researchers, technology developers, industry representatives, and innovators for the Industry Day events and Sensing the Future explore the latest technologies, discuss with industry representatives, visit laboratories, and build new cooperation contacts.
The event will take place in two mutually complementary parts – Industry Day at the ISSP UL and Sensing the Future program at the LU House of Science. Participation in the event is possible upon prior registration “BioPhoT” on the LUMA website.
INDUSTRY DAY – a morning program that brings research closer to industry by offering technology presentations, industry feedback and Q&A sessions, as well as laboratory tours. SWEB and FeLow-D Project researchers and industry partners will present prospective technologies in the fields of functional coatings, smart windows, additive manufacturing, sensors, biomedicine, energy harvesting, and water purification.
SENSING THE FUTURE – the afternoon program at the University of Latvia House of Science, organized within the framework of the BioPhoT program, offers an introduction to the technologies shaping the future of energy, communications, and advanced manufacturing. The program features a conversation with Prof. Koen Bertels (Koen Bertels) on quantum computing, DNA data storage, and Unveil models, technology presentations, Industry Reality Check and a 40-Second Matchmaker – dynamic networking session for building new contacts and collaboration opportunities.

Events are an opportunity to bring together people who develop technologies, look for applications for them, or want to get involved in creating new solutions. The event is designed as a practical platform for knowledge exchange, testing ideas, and creating new collaboration opportunities.
The event will take place at the ISSP UL, 8 Kengaraga Street, Riga, and the Academic Centre of the University of Latvia, House of Science, 3 Jelgavas Street, Riga. The working language is English. The format of the event is intended to be informal – dress code is optional (literally: without ties).
