BIOmaterials for infection COntrol and fast bone REgeneration (BIOCORE)

Video

Description

Infections and slow bone regeneration are a major problem in medicine, especially after trauma or surgery. Current materials are often unable to prevent infection and stimulate bone regeneration at the same time. The project aims to develop next generation biomaterials with antimicrobial properties that simultaneously promote bone healing. For society, this means safer, more effective treatments and faster recovery for patients.

Achievable results

The project aims to develop next-generation biomaterials with antibacterial properties that simultaneously promote bone healing. Over the next 12 months, demonstrate BIOCORE's potential in a laboratory setting, develop a clinically relevant product design in collaboration with medical professionals and strengthen BIOCORE's intellectual property portfolio.

Benefit

For society, it means safer, more effective treatments and faster recoveries for patients. For society, it means more reliable cyber security solutions and a safer digital environment. BIOCORE is a next-generation biomaterial that prevents infections and enables rapid natural bone regeneration, overcoming the critical limitations of materials currently used in the clinic.
