Integrated Loss-Mode Resonance Sensor for Monitoring Ammonia (NH₃) (ILMRS-NH₃)

Video

Description

A miniature photonic ammonia sensor that uses the principle of loss-mode resonance (LMR) for accurate and fast air monitoring. It is compact, energy-efficient and provides a longer lifetime than traditional gas sensors.

The Achievable Results

Develop and validate an integrated LMR sensor prototype under laboratory conditions (TRL 4) and prepare the technology for commercialisation.

The Anticipated Benefit

Improves air quality monitoring in agriculture and industry, reduces health risks and promotes a safer working environment.

The Allocated Funding

EUR 200,000 as of 01.10.2025.
