{"id":1623,"date":"2025-09-16T13:16:44","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T10:16:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/?p=1623"},"modified":"2025-09-16T13:18:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T10:18:10","slug":"applications-open-for-the-free-training-programme-for-knowledge-based-idea-discovery-venture-catalysts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/atverta-pieteiksanas-bezmaksas-apmacibu-programmai-zinatne-balstitu-ideju-attistibai-venture-catalysts\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications open for Venture Catalysts, a free training programme for science-based idea development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Applications are open until 14 October for the 4th call of Venture Catalysts, a free five-week training programme for students, researchers and budding entrepreneurs to support the translation of science-based ideas into real businesses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme is developed and implemented by UniLab in cooperation with RTU Riga Business School, RISEBA and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA<strong>)<\/strong>, co-funded by the European Union. Venture Catalysts provides a unique platform for future innovators to gain the industry knowledge, tools and contacts they need to succeed in the fast-growing <em>deep tech<\/em> in the ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"We plan to run six 'Venture Catalysts' training cycles between 2024 and 2026. So far, 120 budding entrepreneurs have graduated from the programme. This shows that there are more and more people in Latvia who want to turn their scientific ideas into businesses. Our challenge is to create the environment and support to turn this potential into real, internationally competitive businesses,\" says<strong> LIAA Director Ieva J\u0101gere<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme runs from 21 October to 20 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why join Venture Catalysts?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will learn how to validate and develop their ideas into sustainable business models, gain practical knowledge on innovation strategy, intellectual property management and startup creation, network with experienced mentors, entrepreneurs and potential co-founders, and become part of a supportive community that fosters collaboration and growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liaa.gov.lv\/en\/event\/training-program-venture-catalysts-0\">https:\/\/www.liaa.gov.lv\/en\/event\/training-program-venture-catalysts-0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By <em>deep tech<\/em> Latvia is becoming a dynamic hub for science-based entrepreneurship. \"Venture Catalysts provides participants with the opportunity to engage in this transformation and position their ideas for global impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Venture Catalysts<\/strong><br>Venture Catalysts is a national training initiative that supports the development of science-based start-ups in Latvia.
