An international jury, including experts from Hello Tomorrow, evaluated all applications and selected eight \u201cBioPhoT\u201d research and innovation project teams that most strongly demonstrate the global competitiveness of their technologies. Participation in such an event is a strategically important opportunity for Latvian science and innovation to position themselves in the global market,\u201d says Andris Baumanis, head of the project selection and mentoring process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The delegation includes representatives from leading Latvian research institutions and universities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gunita Paidere, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/project\/genex-universals-dns-extraction-module\/\">GENeric EXtraction Module (GENEX )<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Antons Sizovs, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/project\/shielded-haemoglobin-based-oxygen-carriers-shoc\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/project\/masketi-skabekla-neseji-uz-hemoglobina-bazes-shoc\/\">Shielded Haemoglobin-based Oxygen Carriers (SHOC)<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>L\u012bga Brasli\u0146a, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/project\/skid-biopsy-biomarker-for-diagnosis-of-urinary-tract-infection\/\">Liquid biopsy biomarkers for bladder cancer: LiqBio-BC<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>J\u0101nis Baroni\u0146\u0161, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/project\/affordable-sorting-validation-for-cell-therapy-depcell\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/project\/pieejamas-skirosanas-validesana-cilmes-sunu-terapijai-par-pienemamu-cenu-depcell\/\">Affordable Sorting Validation for Accessible Stem Therapy (DEPCELL)<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dagnija Lo\u010da, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/project\/biomaterials-for-infection-control-and-bone-regeneration-in-biocore\/\">BIOmaterials for Infection Control and Fast Bone Regeneration (BIOCORE)<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liga Kunrade, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/project\/a-smart-diagnostic-aptamer-based-tool-for-the-rapid-detection-of-malaria\/\">Smart diagnostics: an aptamer-based device for rapid malaria detection<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M\u0101rcis Eimanis, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/project\/multifunctional-drone-with-dual-coaxial-rotors\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/project\/multifunkcionals-drons-ar-dubult-helikoidalu-piedzinu-durbis\/\">Multifunctional drone with dual-helical propulsion DURBIS<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kaspars Eiduks, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/project\/and-novel-antibacterial-resistance-testing-with-the-flare-laser-speckle-method\/\">Fast Laser Speckle Based Evaluation of Antibacterial Resistance Evaluation (FLARE)<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The delegation is also supplemented by the January 26th <a href=\"https:\/\/biophot.lv\/en\/biophot-industry-day-highlights-the-importance-of-dialogue-in-innovation-attistiba\/\">\u201cBioPhoT\u201d Industry Days<\/a> Winners are Sergejs Gaidukovs's project \u201cResilient EMI Protection for High-Integrity Cybersecurity Solutions\u201d and Kristaps K\u013cavi\u0146\u0161's project \u201cDetermination and Monitoring of Clinically Significant Biomarkers Using Sweat Analysis (SwyCard).\u201d Both solutions were recognized as the best in their categories among 13 presented innovations and gained the opportunity to join the Latvian delegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participation in the \u201cHello Tomorrow Global Summit 2026\u201d is a clear affirmation that Latvia's research and innovation are capable of competing internationally. It is not only an opportunity to showcase technological achievements but also a strategic step towards transforming targeted research ideas into commercially viable solutions, with a special focus on high value-added areas such as biomedical sciences, medical technologies, photonics, smart materials, and engineering. Participation in the event will allow for the establishment of new strategic partnerships, as well as the identification of investment attraction and export opportunities. International visibility at such events is a crucial tool for transforming Latvian innovations into global successes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe \u201dBioPhoT\u201c platform will participate in collaboration with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency (RITA), jointly achieving the special status of Hello Tomorrow \u201dVisionary Partner.\" This provides an opportunity to more extensively position Latvia's deep tech ecosystem, its participants, and its goals. A multifaceted program is planned for the stand, with its main objective being to present Latvia's scientific and technological achievements to an international audience, establish new collaborative contacts, and attract investor interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delegation teams will also have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive<a href=\"https:\/\/hello-tomorrow.org\/investor-day\/\"> Investor Day<\/a> at an event that will bring together leading deep tech investors and industry leaders. Participation is limited and in this case provided as a result of the partnership between \u201cBioPhoT\u201d and Hello Tomorrow.
