An insightful online session dedicated to sharing experiences and practical tips on navigating theEuropean Research Council(ERC) Starting Grant application process by successful principal investigators.
Principal Investigator at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis Dr. Jānis Velikswill share his experience in preparing a competitive ERC Starting Grant proposal and taking part in the Step 2 evaluation stage. He leads the project “Fluorinated Compounds by Nodal Synthesis” (F-NODE), originally submitted under the ERC Starting Grant scheme and later refinanced through the European Regional Development Fund.
Dr. Sanita Reinsone, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Head of the Digital Humanities Center, University of Latvia, will also share her experience from the ERC Starting Grant process. She submitted a proposal in 2022 on emerging participatory practices in digital folklore archives and advanced to the interview stage. While the project was not ultimately funded, she will reflect on the application journey, lessons learned, and what future applicants might take away from the experience.
