“Researchers of BioPhoT are invited to practical training on research commercialization

On September 16 and 17, “BioPhoT” project researchers are invited to participate in practical training on creating new business opportunities from research results. The training will be led by research commercialization and technology transfer expert Jeff Skinner (Jeff Skinner).

During the training, participants will learn about the most essential stages of research commercialization, starting from identifying the potential market and business partners to presenting the value of the technology, conducting negotiations, and attracting investment.

The program will cover topics such as identifying commercial opportunities and assessing technology-market fit, developing commercialization roadmaps and value propositions, reaching out to potential business partners, presenting the value of technology to partners and investors, as well as the path from the first meeting to a potential deal. Special attention will be paid to research collaboration negotiations and attracting investment. spin-off companies and equity principles.

Practical examples, discussions, and tasks are expected during the event to help researchers better understand how to build cooperation with businesses and investors.

Training program

The training will take place at Riga Technical University, 6A Ķīpsalas Street, 2nd floor, “Moon” hall, and will run for two full days from 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM.

Up to 30 participants will be able to take part in the training. It is intended only for participants of the BioPhoT program, and each project team can register up to two representatives for participation, by pre-registering.

Participants who successfully complete the training will receive an ASTP certificate. The working language of the training will be English.
