BioPhoT satellite event Icebreakers’26: Young Millionaires and Technology

On 5 March, the ’BioPhoT“ satellite event ”Young Millionaires and Technology“ will take place as part of the Icebreakers”26 Business Opportunities Festival. From 15.40 to 16.40, researchers, innovation experts and future investors will gather in Room 105 of the University of Latvia House of Sciences to discuss the development of scientific ideas and their potential in the market.

Current and potential BioPhoT participants from the University of Latvia will present their research and innovation ideas at the event. In short, concise presentations, the researchers will reveal the nature of the ideas, the stages of development and the next steps towards commercialisation, as well as explain why these ideas are worth millions.

An interactive business forecast game will add a special dynamic to the event - after each presentation, the audience will take on the role of investors, assessing the growth opportunities of projects and forecasting their development over the next five years. This format promotes an active dialogue between science and business, allowing ideas to be seen from a market perspective and giving researchers immediate feedback.

The event will be complemented by experienced innovation experts who will share practical insights on the challenges of commercialisation and the key success factors for start-ups.
