On October 29, the second annual conference of the biomedical and photonics innovation platform “BioPhoT” took place at the House of Science of the University of Latvia.

Since 2025, within the framework of the “BioPhoT” platform, 66 Latvian innovation projects are being developed in the fields of biomedicine and pharmacy, photonics and smart materials, engineering, and medical technologies. A total of 12.7 million euros has been invested in their development so far.

In the conference panel discussions and brief presentations of supported projects, participants highlighted the project results achieved so far as well as future development and cooperation opportunities, while the exhibition provided a single place to explore around 40 newly created innovation prototypes. The platform aims to develop technologies to the commercialization phase by 2032.
