As a follow-up to the Innovation Impact Forum 2026, the University of Latvia (LU) invites selected participants to join the Deep Tech Atelier side event, "Open Doors Day at LU" – an event that offers an opportunity to get acquainted with Latvia's deep tech ecosystem and research excellence in person.
The event will take place on May 13th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the University of Latvia, Jelgava Street, Riga. Pre-registration is required to participate. here.
The program will begin with Strategic meeting on potential cooperation opportunities (11:00 AM–12:00 PM) University of Latvia Innovation and Acceleration Centre (UL IAC). Technology transfer experts, researchers, and innovation professionals will meet in this session to discuss collaboration opportunities in research commercialization, startup development, and industry partnerships. Participants will gain an overview of UL IAC's role as a central innovation platform supporting the transformation of scientific knowledge into market-ready solutions through technology transfer, incubation, and acceleration programs.
After the meeting, participants will be invited to University research infrastructure tour (12:00–13:00), which will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the most modern laboratories and scientific capacities in various fields in person. The excursion includes visits to the Faculty of Chemistry's Nature House at UL and the Department of Optometry and Vision Science, as well as the House of Science – the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy.
This experience is designed to foster meaningful collaboration between academia, industry, and investors, while highlighting the University of Latvia's potential as a strategic partner in the development of deep technology innovation in the Baltic region.
