Description
The project's goal is to develop an adaptive underwater communication system based on near-infrared laser technology for data exchange between divers and autonomous platforms. The system is designed for short- and medium-range applications in low-visibility conditions, with the possibility of integrating it into diver vehicles.
The Achievable Results
The project is planned to reach TRL4 validation level by conducting laboratory and field testing under various water conditions. The project forms the basis for the development of a TRL9 system and its subsequent commercialization.
The Anticipated Benefit
MARLIN strengthens Latvia's photonics capacity in dual-use innovation, providing secure, environmentally friendly, and undetectable underwater communication solutions for research, rescue, industrial, and defense needs.
