Latvian researchers' innovation projects have attracted the attention of international investors and innovation experts at the world's leading deep tech forum. On June 11 and 12, the long-term national research and development program platform “BioPhoT,” in collaboration with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency (RITA), organized for the first time a unified Latvian deep tech delegation to participate in a forum that brought together over 3000 investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, and innovation ecosystem leaders from around the world. The “BioPhoT” platform was represented by more than 20 emerging innovation teams from Latvia.

International Hello Tomorrow An expert jury had selected ten “BioPhoT” platform projects to participate in the exclusive Investor Day forum. This provided Latvian researcher teams with the opportunity to present their solutions to approximately 300 leading venture capitalists and corporate investment funds. During Investor Day, Latvian researchers held dozens of individual meetings with investors and industry experts, receiving positive evaluations for the quality, scientific maturity, and commercialization potential of the developed technologies.
Continuing their participation in the forum's main program, Latvian representatives presented their solutions in thematic sessions in the fields of medical technologies, biomedicine, and integrated technologies, as well as at the Expo exhibition. The interest shown in Latvian projects confirmed that the solutions created by our scientists align with global technological development trends and are capable of addressing internationally significant problems. Latvian teams successfully received high-level expert and investor feedback – individual project assessments, specific recommendations for further development, and guidance on approaching potential investors, who have also expressed their readiness to continue dialogue and follow the progress of projects in the next development stage.
At the same time, researchers gained significant insights into the investment attraction process. Discussions repeatedly highlighted that not only the technology itself is crucial, but also the founders themselves – their motivation, ability to convincingly articulate the problem they are solving, and demonstrate the team's capability to turn the idea into a successful business.
